About Us

NPHS OPPA was founded in 2017 to help students in Mrs. Alegria's growing Orchestra and Percussion programs at North Port High School. OPPA has greatly enhanced student experiences by providing the support for world famous guest artists to work with students, students to easily fund national and international trips, students to purchase new instruments and instrument accessories, and for students to participate in competitive marching arts ensembles. In 2019, OPPA added the NPHS Indoor Percussion ensemble which ranked first place in class AA before the COVID-19 Shutdown in March of 2020. In the 2020 school year, OPPA became home to the NPHS Alliance Marching Band. In the 2023-2024 school year, OPPA will also include all music programs at NPHS including Band, Chorus, and Orchestra under its umbrella of ensembles.
